I Dreamt

I was married to him

And it must have been good because the Wedding Singer happened to be on last night and I blushed as soon as I heard his voice.
Don't you hate when you can't remember all the details of a good dream?

Filing Day

Today is filing day not for taxes but divorce papers for my closest friend in the world. My heart breaks for her. Our "end" stories , 11 years apart, are eerily similar being that there was no real cause other than I just think I'd be happier without you. My heart breaks for her because I know how it feels

  • to have the rug pulled out from under you

  • to have the person who was once crazy about you, turn his back on you

  • to have the man you loved and had children with become cold hearted and unfeeling towards you

  • to realize all your plans of growing old together are no more

  • to have to answer " I don't know what went wrong" and for people to respond "whats wrong with him"

  • like your heart has been ripped out of your body and at times you can't even breath

My heart breaks because I can't be there in person for her today, but I do know

  • She will come out the other end a stronger person

  • That research shows divorced women tend to marry better than their ex-husbands next time around

  • One day she'll meet a man that believes a deals a deal and have a better growing old plan

  • That while he may have forgot or lost sight, your friends and family have never forgotten how wonderful and amazing you are and just how damn lucky he was to have found you

Oh, and one other thing I know, Eric you're an ass.

Because I am deep like that...

My Facebook Daily Tarot:

The Hanged Man - This card denotes the need to look at your current situation from a different perspective. The Hanged Man creates change by acting passively and accepting fate. By surrendering control and making yourself vulnerable, you will facilitate change in your life. In order to see the bigger picture, you will need to take a
step back.

Could this be speaking to my overwhelming dread of having to drive to the middle of nowhere, sit in the muggy, mosquito infested great outdoors at 8:00pm and watch a bunch of 13yr old girls lose yet one more softball game? Probably not, but I guess I should change my outlook. However after a no-win season and a loss in the first game of the tournament, I think I am fairly equipped to predict the outcome of tonight. Hey I am a realist, what can I say. But great hit last night Lolly!

A few parents even discussed that maybe we should start tailgating before the games to make them worthwhile, not to mention to medicate ourselves for the painful 75minutes to follow.

Secret to Happiness

On Memorial Day we went to see Night at the Museum: The Battle of the Smithsonian.

The theme of the movie: the secret to happiness is to love what you do.

Something, I am always telling Lolly when we talk about future careers for her. Something I haven't lived except for about a 5/6 year time frame. Something that eludes me now*.

Strange that I recieved the secret to happiness is to love what you do message several times over a three day period. So I am currently working on a " What do I love list" right now. Have you found the secret to happiness? What do you love?

* I don't dislike what I do now, I just don't love it. I don't look forward to it. I do love my company though

Jon and Kate Plus 8 = SICK

Did anyone else watch this last night? Was it just me or did Kate seem to be playing it nicer? I typically don't watch the show. It only took a few episodes for me to realize I don't like Kate at all, and I was not a big Jon fan. Prior to word of the recent scandal I just thought Jon had been beat down, now I just think he's pathetic. I don't mean to belittle the pain the family is going through. What a terrible situation. Which one of the older girls is always pouting and stumping off? I hope Kate is putting aside some of the money and "love offerings" from her speaking job for the future therapy or bail the girl is going to need. Maybe it's time to get out of the public eye. Oh but that would mean the money would dry up and how could one possibly raise 8 kids with the money being produced by the show? I could hook you up with some very large Catholic families for some tips. Seriously, is this reality tv at it worst?

I love TLC's blurb of how the show has always been a show about a real family. Yeah because a live in Nanny, mega house, product placement and a butt load of stuff donated to you is REAL LIFE.

It's safe to say I can go back to not watching this American train wreck.

I Thought You Would Never Come

Seriously, I was beginning to think I just dreamt that I ordered a pair of sandals. I had waited and thought about ordering a pair for so long that when I called and Vivian answered the phone I was too stunned to even make small talk. I ordered and I waited, waited, and waited and just when I thought I should call and check the reality of my order, they arrived today. They are worth every stinkin minute of waiting. (70 days from order to delivery)

I want them in every color! Would it be too obnoxious to have my monogram on every pair?

Meant to be

I recently took a personality test that showed me to be an ENFJ (Extraverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging). I took it a whim, as I am always trying to figure out what I should/want to be when I grow up.

It told me…

Possible Career Paths for the ENFJ:
Social Worker / Counselor
Teacher (not a big fan of parents, you teachers know what I mean)
Clergy (not likely)
Sales Representative (no way)
Human Resources (already there)
Manager (been there done that)
Events Coordinator
Sales Representative (no way)
Politicians / Diplomats (LMAO)
Writers (obvious no real writing skill)

I was contemplating the list when my eye wondered down this list, and there at the bottom…

Famous ENFJs:

David, King of Israel
Abraham Lincoln
Ronald Reagan
Barack Obama
William Cullen Bryant, poet
Abraham Maslow, psychologist and proponent of self-actualization
Ross Perot
Sean Connery
Elizabeth Dole
Francois Mitterand
Dick Van Dyke
Andy Griffith
James Garner
William Aramony, former president of United Way
Gene Hackman (Superman, Antz)
Dennis Hopper (Speed)
Brenda Vaccaro
Craig T. Nelson (Coach)
Diane Sawyer (Good Morning America)
Randy Quaid (Bye Bye, Love; Independence Day)
Tommy Lee Jones (The Fugitive)
Kirstie Alley ("Cheers," Look Who's Talking movies)
Michael Jordan, NBA basketball player
Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean)
Oprah Winfrey
Bob Saget America's Funniest Home Videos, Full House
Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("Seinfeld")
Ben Stiller (The Royal Tenenbaums)
Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts quarterback
Matthew McConaughey (The Wedding Planner)
Pete Sampras, Tennis Champion
Lauren Graham ("Gilmore Girls")
Ben Affleck (The Sum Of All Fears)
John Cusack (High Fidelity)

I knew it! Could I be anymore suited for my pretend husband? Well with the exception that he’d be excited to see that our current president was also an ENFJ, while I had the thought of backspacing him off the list.

Give or take a name that's a pretty cool list of people. Now what was it I was trying to figure out...oh yeah my life calling...

Home For Sale

It's official, we finally put house #1 on the market late Tuesday night. Our original target date was Feb 1st. (Slackage at it's finest or just part of the master plan of life?)

From the condition of the house this morning, Lolly and Mister either 1. Don't care , 2. Don't completely grasp, 3. Think I am completely in charge of keeping the house SHOW READY. I am betting on option #3. It's my own fault. I've created monsters. Sloppy monsters!

Now we start the sitting and waiting and waiting and waiting...

Happy May 5th

In honor of my Mexican heritage Happy Cinco De Mayo. Now go have some chips and salsa with a side of Margarita.
