Tell The Truth Thursday

Day 2 of 100 Days - My eating habits would lead one to believe that I am trying to gain not lose 15lbs for my reunion. I did however run/walk for an hour yesterday and did 20 (better than nothing) minutes of pilates today.

If I can just maintain till I work out the eating kinks in this plan.

100 Days

It's official. Only 100 days till my 25yr (holy cow) class reunion. My plan is to drop a pound, or two, or fifteen. Here's a few things to know
  • I do my best work under pressure. 100 days, while that seems long, I am feeling the pressure.
  • I have to make this quest not only pressure filled but fun. Hence the 100 day logo.
  • I may or may not have also made a 100 day weight loss calendar.
  • In making the logo my first thought was to use a chocolate bar but that perhaps that wasn't the best idea.
  •  My second choice was a running shoe but I didn't have any easily accessible running shoe pic that could upload to picnk.
  • I did however have a picture of a pear. And I know this lose won't happen with exercise AND eating right
  • The irony is not lost of me, that yes I am actually a pear shaped person.
Truth is I could probably not lose an once and be happy going to my reunion, with the help of a couple cocktails. But for anyone who has crossed over the 30's into the 40's knows that losing a couples is probably need, at least that's been my experience, damn it!

One other thing to know, it's probably not the best idea to telecommute the day you kick off something like "100 Days" because you if you listen closely you can hear the chocolate bar calling me from the kitchen.

Last Hooray?

I believe tomorrow marks 100 days till my reunion. Tonight I am at Turner Field and this is my dinner of choice. It was either nachos or a hotdog. Time to get serious tomorrow

Internal Battle

I know you all know it's that time of the year again. Several times a day I will have this conversation going thru my head...

"Should I, Shouldn't I, Should I, Shouldn't I, Should I, Shouldn't I?"

It will drive me crazy. If I land on "I should", then it's what color, what color, what color. The only consistency I have in my wardrobe is a truck load of black and white to go with these

If I could decide on another color, I might just have to build a wardrobe around a pair of sandals. But really one pair of these beautiful things really isn't enough. "Should I, Shouldn't I"......

It Was Nice While It Lasted

Friday night and all 24 glorious hours of Saturday I had the house all to myself. If I thought it couldn't get better, it rained on and off all day. Great cleaning and get organized weather. The day seemed to last forever. Bliss. Everything was in it's place and a sense of peace settled over the house. Then Mister rolled home from the beach today and it's all a faint memory...

Weekend Wrap Up

Lolly's party went off without a hitch. It was so nice to wake up and not have a post sleepover house to pick up. The girls all seemed to have a great time painting. I am almost embrassed to report that the instructor came up to me and asked if I was type A and that she could tell by the look on face when I was painting.
In order to get the party go-ers to and from I rented an SUV. The fine people of Enterprise Rent A Car hooked me up with an upgrade and I got to drive one of these, Buick Enclave
Totally decked out. There was so much to this SUV that I didn't have a chance to use half the amenities. If I change my car buying philosophy and/or have a ton of money to spare, I'd so want one for my every own. I may or may not have been stopped and given a warning for speeding with a car full of 14yr olds.

End of an Era

Tomorrow I will be driving Lolly and 5 friends to Sips n' Strokes to paint this picture in celebration of her 14th birthday. It will be the first time in an extremely long time that I didn't have a "themed" party. Oh, how I love me a themed party. A little sad but with the lack of a theme party comes the lack of a sleepover ☺

Wait for Me

I am so behind on my blog reading. I promise I am reading but just not commenting much. I do my best blog reading/commenting while at work (wink) and darn it if they haven't kept me kind of busy.

Reading Material

I usually have a pile of books to read during Spring Break. Simple, quick, easy reading chick lit. But this break I was totally unprepared with reading materials. Lucky for me two days before leaving for Indiana I received an advance copy of Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh. I don't know Tony but he makes me happy. Over the last year or so I've been fascinated with Tony, Zappos, and finding happiness at work.

I work for a great company, first and foremost. However, something is missing in my current role that I am looking to fill from the inside and I'll just leave it at that.

I loved this book. I am actually getting ready to re-read it. It makes me happy to know that my views and opinions on business, companies, recruiting, and pipeline are shared by others. Very validating. It's also really making me ask questions about my view on happiness. What does happiness mean to me?

If  you wonder the same thing, check out Delivering Happiness. If that's not your thing, you're already happy, or you don't want to get that deep do a little shoe shopping Zappos.com . New shoes make everyone happy.

Spring Break - Day 7

With the exception of the excessive amount of gospel/christian/country music options on the radio it was a relatively painless 10 hour drive back to Georgia.

Happy Dyngus Day

After going to Easter Mass and spending the morning with Mister, Lolly and I got in the car and drove to Indiana for Spring Break. Who needs Florida and sunshine.

This will be the first time in many, many year that I am home to celebrate Dyngus Day. I plan to drink beer, eat polish sausage and take in a whole lot of polka music just like back in the day.

For your polka dancing pleasure
