I just noticed that I had 40 some comments that needed moderating. Hello! I turned on the comment moderator when I had a spam comment and then forgot that I did it. I just thought I was boring everybody.
Blackberry update: Major progress has been made. The little roller ball thingy isn't working as "enter" but I really only had the keypad stinking in the rice. Now I have the roller ball emgered so I am expecting good things tomorrow. I hope the few loose pieces of rice that have found their way into the cracks that I hear jiggling around don't come back to bite me.

Lesson Learned
This has been the state of my blackberry since about noon yesterday. I've seen this solution on a couple blackberry forums. I think I've made a little progress but the keyboard is still acting loopy and I can't enter my password to unlock the stupid thing.
This morning it dawned on me that this may be God's way of telling me I need to do less pushing back and accept change as a gift. At the end of Dec I had to stop expensing and using my personal blackberry for work and get a work blackberry since my company owns a wireless commuincation company. From a business perspective I understood the decision, from a personal/employee perspective it really irritated me. I now had to carry around two phones and it essentially equated to a pay decrease because expensing my phone was a benefit/perk when I came to the company. Now I pay for it.
But guess who's super happy she has a work blackberry right about now. I was telling Lolly about my relevation this morning and she said don't you wish you could tell God "I got it, I learned the lesson, can you please make my blackberry work again now". I know he heard us but this pushback/change thing is an ongoing issue with me...

Inspired
Inspired by The Cobia Family's new hobby, I dusted off my sewing machine and tackled two projects this weekend.
One inspired by Simple, Green, Frugal Co-op . Envelopes for the envelope system of budgeting. For those of you who are fans of Dave Ramsey, you know what I am talking about. If, I don't get cash and separate it out on pay day I get off budget. It never fails. I don't know how to make the lables like the envelopes shown so I just bought different colored zippers to identify the different budget items - groceries, gas, spending, etc.
The other inspired by Made By Rae. Heart Garland. While the majority of house is decorated for Mardi Gras, I always decorate Lolly's room the night before Valentines Day so she wakes up to a surprise. One year I covered her entire floor in balloons and hung hearts from the ceiling. It took forever to blow up the balloons. One year I covered the floor in heart confetti. (When Lolly was a baby I worked for American Greetings and I am still working on using/getting rid of stuff I collected) Crazy, I know. I figured I could just vacuum it up. We had heart confetti tracked through out the house for months. This was super is and super cheap. I bought 9 pieces of felt at Wal-Mart for 20cents a piece.
I'll post picture of the finish project after Feb 14th.

Improvements
It's 8:30 and I haven't eaten any sugar or diet pop. I'd say it's been a good day, if you look past the crying spell and mood swings...

Mardi Gras Season
Today while the cable guy was here to check out the cable box in the office, it struck me that my “holiday” decorations may have caught him by surprise. The House of Fowler goes straight from Christmas (the day after Thanksgiving to the Epiphany) right into Mardi Gras season (the Epiphany to Fat Tuesday). The closer we get to Fat Tuesday, the more festive the house becomes. It’s still early. I have yet to break out the feathered masks.
The beads at the bottom right are from my collection I acquired on Bourbon Street and that’s all I'll say about that. You may notice the vacuum cleaner in the background. The battle of vacuum continues...

My Cube Mate
I work from home once a week. Not having to commute into Atlanta makes me feel like I have an extra day off.
I especially love it when its rainy and all 4 animals are feeling lazy and leaving me alone.

Work In Progress
This is our back bedroom previous known as Santa's workshop during the holidays. It use to be the office, the first time around that we lived in this particular house. When we upsized we had a bigger office which I never really got around to completely decorating before we decided we had been three kinds of crazy to move from our original home and take on an upsized house payment.
Since returning to the original House of Fowler I've just used it for storing what use to be in the office and my gift closet from the bigger house. In my effort to declutter, my first project is to turn the office back in to the office and clear out the unused stuff. Amazing how many office supplies I have that I never, ever use. During one of my lunch breaks this week I headed to Ikea and happened upon this
The black leather parson's chair I got at Target last year for $35! Lolly and I are headed back to Ikea tomorrow morning for inspiration and possibly some shelves.

Which after 2 hours turned into this
As with most pictures I post - much cuter in real life. If I had had a phillips head screw driver worth a flip I could have easily finished in less than 2 years. I love Ikea and cheap inexpensive furniture. I was lucky to find it on sale for $79.99 and it works perfect with this

Cry For Help
Could you imagine. I couldn't. It's eay to go about your day in comfort and block out the nightmare others are going through. Thinking my small effort will not really make a difference. We all know what's happened, you see it on tv, you read it on twitter. How easy it is to go about your day and forget.

Lucky Girl
That's me. I recently won Cathe Holden of Just Something I Made's blogging ring giveway. I love Cathe's work. She is so creative. You can also find her at Home Grown Logos and at the Farm Fresh Creative blog. I love her work so much I am tempted to have her create me my very own logo but I fear my friends will think I've gone over the top.
Due to the bad weather and ice left just in front of our house we went several days without getting mail. I thought I would bust waiting for my package to arrive to find which one of these was mine.

I came home yesterday and this was waiting for me
Sorry for the fuzzy picture, I really need to updagrade my camera. But how cool is that?!!!

Bustin Out
Yesterday's snow day made it very clear that I am once addicted to diet pop. I know this because I was caught without any yesterday and was ok with sending Mister out like a homing pigeon in big rig to go to store. He had trouble getting out of the drive way. Not a long curvy driveway or hilly driveway, just short and flat. Seems the worst of the ice was in front of our house which the dogs particularly loved because it gave them something to bark at all day as the neighbors had a big time sliding on the ice.
I've got to get out today. I need more diet pop, I have a cat that keeps reminding that we are out of cat treats, I have another cat that thinks our fireplace is a litter box, and I had to eat frozen pizza for dinner last night for lack of wholesome food in the house. Oh and I need an oil change.Who would have thought the bright spot of a day could be a trip to Wal-Mart.

Snow Day
Sort of. Schools out, Mister's home, and I am telecommuting for fear of black ice. It's early and I am the only one up and working. Bliss.
Truth be told this Indiana girl isn't really afraid of ice as much as she is of the all those crazy people who have decided to get out and drive and have no real experience with snow and ice.
Later today when everyone is up, it could prove to be a case of "be careful what you wish for". Is the inability to concentrate at times due to Lolly interruptions and the fear of being on a work call and being embarassed by Mister busting out in some random song worth the comfort of my pjs? Probably...

Snow Day
The news is preparing us for bad weather. Lolly's school is already planning an early dismissal tomorrow. I am hoping my Georgia neighborhood will look like this. Doesn't matter how old I get the desire for a snow day never goes away

Set Back
I just tried to EAT, not chew, my weight in gumballs. Sugar is not my friend.
I had to remove the gumball machine from my desk but if I listen closely I can hear the gumballs calling my name from my bottom file draw...

Sticking To The Plan
While I haven't written out the plan for the entire week, I had Monday covered. Made today much easier. Probably will still need to fine tune choices but it's a step in the right direction.

Planning to Succeed
I learned this weekend that if I don’t plan ahead what I am going to eat, I’ll eat anything whenever I want.
I found this handy free printable food journal from Jen Allyson at TheProjectGirl.com. If you haven’t checked her out, you should!
Thank goodness for all the creative and generous bloggers out there! Now I just need to fill it out.

Goal Setting
I have a lot of goals I'd like to accomplish for 2010 but for the first 3 months I am just going to focus on 2
Losing 15lbs
Continue Decluttering
15lbs will be easy to determine when I hit my goal. It's all up to me.
Decluttering, well that's a different story. Things are always coming into the house. If I don't love it, use it on a regular basis, or really and truly need it, it's got to go. I have things, Lolly has lots of things, and Mister has things. I was unsuccessful in getting rid of his Presto Pizzazz Revolving Pizza oven on my pass through the kitchen yesterday. But I have my eye on it and on you too, George Foreman grill.
